Frequently Asked Questions

Podhero is a subscription service that makes it easy to support your favorite podcasts and the people that make them.

97% of podcasts don’t make money (not even from ads or sponsors) and rely on support from listeners like you. We believe that creators should be compensated for the value they create.

Podhero helps listeners support all of the podcasts they listen to.

Users contribute $4.99/mo, to be divided among all the shows they're supporting. Depending on how many shows they choose to support, you could make anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars per month, per listener. The more of your listeners that use Podhero, the more money you make. Telling your listeners about Podhero is the easiest way to increase your revenue. And fear not: we've crafted some tips on how to do that.

When someone listens to an episode of your show on Podhero, they have the ability to "recommend" it. Their followers will be notified about the recommendation...and just might give your show a try. With enough of these recommendations, your episode will move up the Trending list where even more people will see it! You also get a small boost in money each month when someone recommends an episode of yours.

Just head over to to get started. If you don't already have a Podhero account, you'll need to create one. Next, we'll send an email to the address listed on your podcast's RSS feed to claim your show. Once you receive that email, you're in business!

You sure can! Podhero can serve as a part of your podcast support strategy. In fact, we believe the two can work together beautifully. Our tip: tell your listeners that having their support gives you the flexibility to be pickier about sponsors...or to choose to not have them at all.

For sure. We don't want you to stop using other services while you try out Podhero. Podhero can be the primary way your podcast makes money or it can just be a small part of your strategy; we want you to have what you need to keep creating great podcasts. We want you to do what's best for your show.

You'll be able to connect your bank account or debit card after you've claimed your show. You can withdraw funds once a month and there's a minimum of $20.

We pay out to 30+ countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil (beta), Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania (beta), Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and The United States.

Absolutely not. We don't believe you should have to make bonus content to justify asking your listeners for support - and many of those listeners agree. We interviewed hundreds of them, and the overwhelming majority want to support the great work that creators like you are already doing.

We're glad you asked. Podcasters rely on Podhero to monetize their podcasts, and we rely on podcasters to help spread the word to their listeners. We've found the best way to do this is a "sponsorship"-style spot during an episode.

"This episode is brought to you by Podhero, the easiest way to support your favorite podcasts. Did you know that only 1% of the biggest podcasts make money? It's true. The other 99% rely on support from listeners like you. With Podhero, you can support all of your favorite podcasts with one $4.99/mo membership. Just click the link in the show notes, tell Podhero your favorite podcasts (don't forget this one), and your contribution gets shared between shows at the end of the month.  After all, I'm not only a Podhero partner, I'm also a user. You can follow me with the link in the show notes and see what podcasts I love. Podhero works with almost all podcasts, there's a 0% platform fee (we don't take a cut), there are no contracts, and you can try it free for 30 days."

We might be biased, but we don't think there is one...

We've worked hard to make Podhero both pro-podcaster and pro-listener. Not only do we believe this is the right way to run a company, it's the only way we earn and keep the trust of creators and listeners. In exchange, we only we ask for your help in telling your listeners about Podhero. The more listeners we have, the more supporters you stand to get...and the more we all win.
